At first sight the FRS and FHZX reclining chairs look upright and forbidding - until you sit in it and put it back into one of the five recline positions and realise that the sprung and padded backrest and seat are almost as comfortable as the classic Lafuma recliner. The high back gives firm support all the way up and down your back, and yet this is less than half the weight of an RSX recliner.

Lean right back into five different positions and take the weight off

This is one of those wonderfully versatile products from Lafuma, with many different possible uses. Folding down to just a few inches thick, and weighing in at just a few pounds, this is a real go-anywhere and store-anywhere chair but one which you or your clients or guests will be comfortable sitting in for hours on end.

So here's a real alternative to a Lafuma recliner for home, garden, caravan or therapy use, especially for hand reflexology and Indian Head Massage - no support for the feet and ankles, but lighter, smaller, more portable, more compact, and let's face it, about half the price.

Point to note: Lafuma have designed this on the assumption that if you are reclined back, you are fully relaxed if not asleep. During our testing we found that some people, if they wanted to be head up and alert while still reclined, preferred to use a pillow or bolster behind the neck instead of lying right back. If in doubt, why not try one of these chairs for size before you invest in one?

Indian Head Massage and Hand Reflexology

If you are looking for a chair to take for mobile Indian Head Massage or on-site massage treatments, the choice is between this chair and the FGX-XL wide director's chair. Why would we choose this one?

• With or without a neck pillow or bolster, the high back provides ideal support when the client is tipped back for working on the scalp and face;
• Yet when sitting upright, the neck and shoulders are free to work on;
